Editor’s Recommendation:
The Jewish people possess a profound cultural tradition and an extraordinary historical destiny. Throughout thousands of years of living in dispersion across the world, they have created and presented some of the most unique and complex cultural-historical facts in human history. In the book, Professor Liu Hongyi points out that Jewish civilization, as a continually evolving way of life, embodies complexities and uncertainties in its transformation and practice that cannot be fully addressed by general theoretical frameworks. As both a cultural creation and a point of reference, Jewish culture carries its distinct connotations and values. Originally published by the Commercial Press in 2004, this book has undergone multiple printings and is now reissued in a revised edition.
