Professor Liu Hongyi, Ph.D. in Literature, Senior Professor of Humanities and Social Sciences at Shenzhen University, Ph.D. supervisor, Director of the Jao Tsung-I Institute of Culture Studies, Director of the Institute of Comparative Literature and Culture, chief expert of major projects of the Central Marxist Theory Research and Construction Project, chief expert of major projects of the National Social Science Fund, special allowance expert of the State Council, honorary doctorate from the Federation University Australia, Vice President of the 12th and 13th Chinese Comparative Literature Association. He has received honors such as Huang Yanpei outstanding principal, one of the 30 scholars with important theoretical contributions to higher education research in China, and has won multiple national and provincial-level awards for outstanding teaching and research achievements.
Professor Liu has long been engaged in teaching and research in cultural philosophy,comparative literature and culture, Jewish studies, and higher education. He has published numerous works including Essentials of the Jewish culture, Study of Biblical Narratives, Towards Cultural Poetics, The Jewish Spirit, Cultural Studies of American Jewish Literature, New Discussion on Contemporary Aesthetic Culture (co-authored), Higher Education Towards Internationalization (co-authored), etc. He is the chief editor of Civilization Synthesis Series (five volumes), Biographies of Jewish Celebrities (six volumes), Cultural Innovation and Interdisciplinary Cultural Studies, The Concept and Practice of Cultural Education, Cultural Education (1-5 series) and many other publications. He has published translated works such as The Bridal Canopy and other translations totaling hundreds of thousands of words. He is the author of more than 100 academic papers in authoritative journals such as Foreign Literature Studies, Theoretical Studies in Literature and Art, Comparative Literature in China, Foreign Literary Studies, and China Higher Education Research. Many of his relevant works have been reprinted and introduced in international publications including Xinhua Digest, ROUTER: A Journal of Cultural Studies, Ethno-National Studies, World History, Journal of Peking University, Du Shu, China Book Review, Guang Ming Daily, China Culture Daily, Chinese Social Sciences Today, Ta Kung Pao, Journal of Graduate School of Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, as well as the Journal of Chinese Philosophy (U.S), the A&HCI Journal (U.S), and the Israel Magazine.
In recent years, he has published works on cultural philosophy and cross-cultural studies such as The Book of Twin Worlds, The Wisdom of Twin Worlds, Words of Wisdom from Twin Worlds, Building a New Civilization for the Benefit of Humanity, His works integrates Confucianism, Buddhism, Daoism, Hebrew thought, and Greek philosophy, proposing theories of universal thought, universal civilization, theory of original world, and studies of two worlds, which have attracted high attention from academia at home and abroad. After the publication of The Book of Twin Worlds by the Commercial Press in Beijing, it was also published in traditional Chinese characters in Hong Kong and Taipei, and translated into English, Japanese, French, and other foreign languages for overseas publication and distribution.
