The 1st Jao Tsung-I Culture Forum of Shenzhen University, an international academic conference themed “Cultural Innovation and a Community with a Shared Future for Humanity”, hosted by the Jao Tsung-I Institute of Culture Studies, Shenzhen University, was held at Bauhinia Villa, Shenzhen, on Nov. 22 - 23, 2018. The conference was characterized by “boundary - crossing”, and discussions centered on three sub - themes: “Chinese Culture Confidence and Cultural Philosophy Innovations”, “Traditional Culture Inheritance and Communication in Modern Times”, and “Jao Studies and Interdisciplinary Vision”, all of which merited critical and scholarly attention across disciplines. This conference was meant to build Chinese culture confidence, to probe into the theoretical complexity of the given topics, and to build a common spiritual bridge across cultural - linguistic traditions. The conference received more than 100 experts and scholars from over 10 countries and regions, including the United States, Britain, France, South Korea, Thailand and Hong Kong.
